Big opportunities for small businesses

Local Waveney businesses are being urged to take part in an event designed to help them reap the rewards of an exciting future for the area
Presented by the Waveney Business Forum (WBF), 'Opportunities For Your Business' will focus on the fantastic opportunities which will be created by the new Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth 'Enterprise Zone', the 'Centre for Offshore Renewable Engineering' (CORE) designations and the event will also outline the Government priorities for job creation and economic growth as well as the work of the New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership.
The 50 billion pound planned developments in Offshore Wind, Gas and Oil in the Southern North sea further underpin Waveney's prime position and the WBF would like to invite local businesses to listen to some of the region's most important business figures and learn more about these opportunities and how to place themselves in the right place at the right time.
Speakers at the event include Peter Aldous Waveney MP, Chris Starkie Programme Director for New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership, Paul Moss, Principal Service Manager Economic Regeneration at Waveney District Council, Joanna Young Stakeholder Manager for ScottishPower Renewables, Kevin Rodger, Policy Manager for Suffolk County Council and Johnathan Reynolds, Business Development Manager at OrbisEnergy.
Cllr Bruce Provan, Waveney District Council's Cabinet Member for Economic Development said: "Economic Growth is fundamental to the UK's recovery and Waveney could not be better placed to deliver. However, if the whole district is to benefit, businesses far and wide need to understand what's in it for them and this event is the perfect way to see the bigger picture."
The event is taking place at the Waveney House Hotel in Beccles on March 29th with registration and a buffet at 5.15pm ahead of a 6pm start. Tickets costs just 15 pounds per person.
The Waveney Business Forum brings together representatives from existing business associations, trader associations and chamber of commerce groups from within the Waveney area. The group seeks to raise the profile of the districts businesses through a range of activities including increasing shared branding and marketing channels and building local supply chain opportunities.
