The Suffolk Investor Club
Bringing together companies with potential investors
Launched in January 2011, the aim of the Suffolk Investor Club is to encourage more investment into high growth Suffolk based companies from local investors.
Supported by Suffolk County Council, this is the first coordinated business angel programme in the county bringing together ambitious companies seeking equity finance to grow their business with private investors who are looking for investment opportunities.
The Club's first investment has been into Scour Prevention Systems (SPS), based in OrbisEnergy in Lowestoft. SPS has been set up specifically to develop, prove and commercialise a unique approach to combatting scour around offshore structures, such as wind turbines.
The company successfully pitched with a clear and precise presentation of their aim and goals in May 2011 and subsequently secured a £100,000 Business Angel co-investment loan provided by an investor member.
