Benefit changes due to Welfare Reform
An introduction
From April 2013, The Benefits Systems is going through one of its biggest shake ups for over 60 years and many working age people will be affected by the changes which the Government is introducing
As your local council, with responsibility for managing and implementing these changes, we have written to those who will be affected explaining what is happening and why. However, on the following pages, we have also brought all this information together in as simple a way as possible, to provide all the information you need.
This information not only includes details about the changes but also the support and advice that is available for those who are concerned about their ability to pay.
- Housing Benefit changes for council and housing association tenants
- Changes to Council Tax Benefits
- Local Housing Allowance changes
- Personal Independence Payment
- The Benefit Cap
- Universal Credit
This video has been produced by Halton Housing in Cheshire which explains and summarises the welfare reform changes very well.
