Making a benefits claim
How to claim
Please allow up to 45 minutes to complete the online form.
Are you claiming Job Seekers Allowance, Employment and Support Allowance or Pension Credit?
You can complete the housing benefit form at the same time as making a claim at the DWP. This form should then be returned to Rishton House or your local Job Centre. Ensure you say that you rent your home or pay council tax when you are making your claim - this way you will not miss out.
To make your claim for Job Seekers Allowance, Employment Support Allowance call 0800 055 6688. If you find it hard to speak or hear clearly a textphone is available on 0800 023 4888. Lines are open from 8am to 8pm, Monday to Friday.
To make a claim for Pension Credits, you can call The Pension Service on 0800 99 1234 or textphone 0800 169 0133. Lines are open 8.00 am to 8.00 pm Monday to Friday and 9.00 am to 1.00 pm on Saturdays.
If you are elderly or disabled and not able to complete and return the application form, we are able to visit you in your home. Our friendly staff will be able to complete the form and take copies of all the documents we will need to calculate your claim. Call us on (01502) 523535 to speak to one of our advisors.
