Food waste recycling

A new Government backed campaign has been launched as research reveals that we are throwing away a staggering third of the food we buy in the UK - most of which could have been eaten. The astonishing statistic follows pioneering research undertaken earlier this year by WRAP (Waste and Resources Action Programme) which shows that for every three bags of shopping we bring home, we effectively put one straight in the bin. Get more information and tips at Love Food Hate Waste.

The Council is changing the way it collects waste from your Green bin to enable you to recycle more and to process it in an environmentally friendly way. Changes have been made behind the scenes, affecting how contents of your Green bin are composted. This means that you can now put all food waste into the Green bin.
