Tourism development

The Sunrise Coast Research Programme was introduced in 2003 to provide a structured and strategic process of conducting comparable tourism research year on year. It was developed to allow for desination benchmarking using regional and national surveys to compare and contrast findings.

The research programme includes:

• Visitor profile information
• Visitors' views of the area
• Marketing campaign effectiveness
• Service satisfaction
• Volume & value of tourism

Latest findings from East of England Tourism (2009) estimate that tourism is worth £258 million to the Waveney Economy, attracting just under four million visitors and supporting 12.8% of all jobs in the district.
