1st East is one of 19 Urban Regeneration Companies (URC) in England with the ultimate aim of generating economic growth and creating jobs by coordinating public and private sector development in the brownfield and waterfront areas of Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth.

East of England Development Agency (EEDA)

EEDA is a government funded organisation and is one of nine regional development agencies in the country. EEDA’s main role is to be the driving force behind sustainable economic growth and regeneration in the East of England and works closely with other organisations in the Eastern region such as Local Authorities.

East of England International (EEI)

EEI is the official international business support agency for the East of England. Supported by the EEDA and UK Trade & Investment (UK&I), EEI provides a wide range of professional and confidential services to businesses wishing to set up or expand as well as help those wanting to trade overseas or expand existing businesses in other countries.

East of England Regional Assembly (EERA)

The East of England Regional Assembly exists to promote the ecoomic, social and environmental well-being of the region.  It consists of a partnership of elected representatives from the 54 local authorities in the East of England and appointed representatives.

Foundation East

Previously known as Suffolk Regeneration Trust, Foundation East is a not for profit organisation that operates across East Anglia.  The Foundation lends money to new businesses, existing businsses, charities and social enterprises that cannot get a loan from a bank or need additional funds to match bank lending.

A good example of succesful partnership working is the Halesworth Hempworks project which saw a number of organisations including Foundation East, Suffolk County Council, EEDA and WDC's Economic Regeneration team work together.  The project involved renovating a disused historic building on a town centre brownfield site, creating 8 high quality (class B1) affordable business units and also a meeting/conference room available for use by tenants and community organisations.  Total project cost = £456,435

Government Office for the East of England (GO-East)

Government Office for the East of England (GO-East) is the regional government link with the task to co-ordinate central government activities for the benefit of the Eastern region. They work closely with the local authorities to help improve service delivery and value for money.

Suffolk County Council (SCC)

The Economic Development Unit at SCC works in partnership with a wide variety of associates to stimulate and develop growth of the economy in the County. Their vision is to ensure that the communities and businesses throughout Suffolk are effectively supported to meet the rising demands and challenges of the 21st Century. The unit has specialist knowledge in external funding, programme management, regional development and business stimulation.

Suffolk Development Agency (SDA)

The SDA is a county wide strategic agency working in partnership with key public, private and voluntary sector agencies including EEDA, Business Link and local authorities. The SDA plays a key role in sustaining economic development activity by attracting new investment and re-investment, providing business relocation/expansion advice, managing and monitoring a free commercial sites and premises website as well as administer a economic/labour data analysis website.

Waveney Community Forum csv

Membership of the Waveney Community Forum is open to all charities, voluntary organisations and community groups that operate within the Waveney area.  They can offer a number of services on fundraising, charity law, project development and much more.

Waveney Economic Partnership (WEP)

The WEP ensures that appropriate connections exist between a number of groups and associates. The aim is to build on existing partnership arrangements and integrates these groups wherever suitable, thus reducing the number and overlap of meetings.
