'Saved' Adopted Plan Policies - Important
Note
Under the Planning & Compulsory Purchase Act 2004, policies in
the Waveney Adopted Local Plan (1996) were saved for 3 years from
28th September 2004. The Secretary of State can make a direction to
save policies for a further period beyond this date, but they were
otherwise due to expire on 27th September 2007. The Council had to
submit an assessment of Adopted Policies that it wished to save
beyond 27th September 2007 to GO-EAST by 1st April. This report,
assessing Adopted Plan policies against Government criteria, went
to Full Council on 26th March 2007.
The Secretary of State's Direction, which lists the Adopted Plan
policies that have been extended beyond 27th September 2007, has
now been received. Those not listed in the Direction expired on
27th September 2007, and cannot therefore be used after this
date.
The Waveney Interim Local Plan is unaffected by these procedures,
since it has not been fully adopted. It will continue to be used
alongside the saved Adopted Local Plan policies for development
control purposes until such time as they are superseded. It is
anticipated that all the Adopted and Interim policies will be
superseded by the Local Development Framework by Autumn 2009
