Local Development Framework
The Waveney Local Development Framework, looking to 2021, will gradually replace the Local Plan with a folder of local planning documents. The Waveney Local Development Framework and East of England Plan, which is prepared at the regional level, are the key documents to help guide and control development in the District.

Local Plan
The Local Plan sets out the policies which are used to make decisions when people apply for planning permission and identifies sites for future development.

The Planning Policy team are working towards the delivery of the Government’s sustainable communities agenda. At the local level this involves assisting in the implementation of the Waveney Sustainable Communities Strategy, produced by the Waveney Local Strategic Partnership. The planning policy team’s work is focused on the preparation, monitoring and reviewing of a spatial planning policy framework against which planning decisions are made.
