A Personal Search is a search of the local land charges register. A
Personal Search allows access to limited property information and
is not as comprehensive as the local authority search. There are no
standard forms required in order to carry out a Personal Search and
it is your responsibility to obtain other information relating to
the property being searched from council departments.
Personal Searches Online
It is now possible to obtain personal search information online.
Payment is also taken online and the results are usually emailed
back within 48 hours.
The facility is available via the Suffolk Searches wesite at
http://www.onesuffolk.co.uk/SuffolkSearches/PersonalSearchInformation
You have to register with the site to be able to use this facility.
The results of the local search will be emailed, in Adobe .PDF
format, to the address you supply.
How to Request a Personal Search
To carry out a Personal Search you must make an appointment with
the local land charges department. Appointments are necessary to
ensure, you do not have a wasted journey and staff are available to
deal with you. Appointments are available between the hours of
9:30am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday. There may be the rare occasion
when a certain day is not available due to resources within the
team i.e. Training days.
We need 24 hours notice of when you want to do the personal
search.
To book an appointment please call 01502 523243 or email
landcharges@waveney.gov.uk, once you appointment is confirmed you
will need to submit a fax to 01502 514617 or email,
providing:
- Search address
- Plan of property
- Name and contact details of company performing the search
- Date and time of appointment
Your search request will not be processed until the fax is
received.
A separate appointment may also have to be made with other council
departments who hold records that can be inspected, and is required
to compile your own CON29.

Fees
There is a fee of £11.00 (+£1 per extra parcel of land up to a
maximum of £27) for carrying out a Personal Search of the local
land charges register, this is payable upon receipt of the
information and a receipt will be provided. Cheques and cash
payments only. Cheques made payable to “Waveney District
Council”
