Improvements in the Planning Service
We are working towards delivering a more customer
and community focused Planning Service.
- We have introduced a duty officer system to ensure advice is
always available at reception or on the phone between 9am and 5pm
(4.30pm Fridays)
- Our Planning reception has been improved with more space
available to view plans, web access and more information on our
services.
- We are improving our processes and developing capacity to deal
with planning applications. The aim is to provide a good service
and reduce the time it takes to deal with planning
applications.
- To provide more advice to help with your application we are
keen to promote pre-application discussions. Please contact the
planning team on telephone (01502) 523047 if you would like to
discuss a proposed development.
- The two Development Control Committees have been combined into
a single committee. The location of the meetings will rotate
between Beccles, Wangford and Lowestoft.
- Regular Developers’ Forum meetings and meetings with town and
parish councils to discuss the planning process have been
programmed in for 2008.
- There is now a Section 106 Officer to co-ordinate and monitor
S106 agreements. Information on the financial contribution is
available on our website.
- From March it will be possible to view documents and plans
associated with planning applications on Waveney’s
website.
