Waveney District Council is creating an Economic Regeneration
Strategy for 2008-2017 and wants the public’s views on this crucial
draft document.
The strategy considers how the Council will respond to the
recommendations and actions of the recently launched ‘Waveney
Prospectus’ during the next ten years and beyond. It will maintain
and build upon the momentum of the Prospectus, identifying the
factors that influence the Waveney economy, clarifying key
opportunities, committing to clear three-year action plans and
showing how we intend to measure our success.
An Economic Regeneration Strategy is one of the most important
documents produced by a Council, especially in an area such as
Waveney where there is both considerable opportunity and
substantial and persistent economic challenge

Cllr Wendy Mawer, WDC Portfolio Holder for Economic Regeneration
said: "For too long Waveney has been seen as simply an area of
need. Working with our partners we are determined to show that the
true value of Waveney is as a wealth creator of regional and
national significance that thrives to meet the needs of the whole
community, whilst respecting and protecting our superb built and
natural environment.
The consultation concludes on Friday March 7,
2008.
