Refuse Collection
Disruption |
Heavy snowfall overnight has forced the cancellation of refuse
collections on Monday 24 March
Waveney District Council would like to inform residents
that the heavy snowfall overnight forced the cancellation of
yesterday’s refuse collections. There are also delays to Tuesday’s
collections.
The adverse weather conditions made the roads and pavements very
slippery and it was deemed too dangerous for the crews to leave the
depot this morning. In the interest of public and workforce safety
the decision was taken to postpone collections until conditions
improve.
A spokesperson for Waveney District Council said: “If your bin was
not emptied yesterday, please leave it out for collection and we
will endeavour to empty it during the next three days. This ‘catch
up’ process may have a knock on effect on collections later in the
week, so please leave you bin out until it is emptied.
“It is anticipated that the backlog will be cleared by midday on
Saturday 29 March.”
Waveney District Council’s Refuse Collection Team would like to
apologise for any inconvenience caused.
Thank you for your
co-operation. | |
