LGR events in September
The public Boundary Review consultation runs until Friday 26 September and a number of events have been organised to help residents and stakeholder groups learn more about proposed Local Government changes.

The first will take place outside the Kings Head hotel in Market Street, Beccles from 10am to 2pm on Friday September 5. Councillors and officers will be on hand to provide residents with a whole range of information about the proposals and how Waveney District Council is responding.

Beccles Member Cllr Chris Punt said: “Services will be affected by the changes and residents need to understand what is happening. Local Government Review of Suffolk and Norfolk affects everyone and it is important that people are fully informed, and can share their views with the Boundary Committee.”

Further events in September have been organised by the Local Strategic Partnership (a body of key stakeholder organisations from across the district) They will take place at the Wherry Hotel in Oulton Broad on Wednesday 3 September from 5pm to 8pm and at the Waveney House Hotel in Beccles on Thursday 4 September again from 5pm to 8pm. Invites have been sent to local businesses, organisations and groups, but the event is also open to members of the public who wish to attend.

Also, Waveney District Council is supporting two further sessions, specifically aimed at the Community and Voluntary Sectors. The first will take place in Lowestoft at the United Reform Church on London Road South on Wednesday 10 September from 6.30pm to 9.15pm. The second will be held on Thursday 11 September in Beccles. The venue and time are still to be confirmed, but will be publicised shortly.

Local Government Review will also be one of the hot topics up for discussion at Waveney District Council’s latest community engagement event. The Council will have a stand at the Henham Steam Rally on Saturday 20 September and officers will be available to answer questions and concerns on a range of issues, including the review of boundaries in Suffolk and Norfolk.
