Roller rink visits Lowestoft
Waveney District Council announces the arrival of a roller skating rink on Lowestoft seafront for two weeks.

Waveney District Council is pleased to announce the arrival of a roller skating rink on Lowestoft seafront Royal Green for the next two weeks.

The Radio Broadland Roller Rink will be open from Saturday 16 August to Sunday 31 August 2008 from 11am until 6pm daily.

Visitors and residents will be able to enjoy an hour’s roller-skating on what will be the most easterly roller skating venue, for only £4.00 per hour including skate hire.

The roller rink is 20m x 10m and is surrounded by safety fencing, to enable skaters of all abilities to take part and enjoy this attraction for the next couple of weeks.

Darren Newman Waveney’s Service Manager for Tourism and Events said: “ Having the roller rink in Lowestoft is a wonderful attraction to the area and will add to the seafront’s offer for both visitors and residents.”

He added: “ We hope that the rink will be enjoyed by the local community, visitors and skaters of all abilities.”

Waveney District Council and Radio Broadland have been working closely with the rink Operators Baseline Promotions and helped make this venture possible. Baseline Director Mathew Howes said: “ Our roller rinks have been very successful at other seaside resorts this year and we are excited to bring our new improved rink to Lowestoft.”
