The Council has prepared and adopted a licensing policy to show how
it intends to carry out these functions in support of the
Government's licensing objectives, which are :
- the prevention of crime and disorder
- public safety
- the prevention of public nuisance
- the protection of children from harm
Consultation took place with a large number of people that the
District Council considered to be representative of residents,
businesses, existing licence holders etc. as well as statutory
agencies and this Policy has incorporated all comments received
where appropriate.
Our Licensing Policy was adopted by Waveney District Council on 8th
December 2004.
This Licensing Policy has been written in accordance with the
Statutory Guidance issued by the Secretary of State for Culture
Media and Sports and you can view copies of that guidance and other

Every Licensing Policy has to be reviewed at least every three
years but can be reviewed at an earlier date at the discretion of
the Licensing Authority.
