Hosted by Waveney District Council, Suffolk Sport is a County
Sports Partnership responsible for developing sport across the
county of Suffolk in partnership with all the Local Authorities and
many other organisations. A key focus of our role is the education
and personal development of the coaching and volunteer workforce
who are involved with sport in whatever context it may be.
There are 5,821,400 sports volunteers in England,
representing nearly 15% of the adult
population.
These volunteers contribute 1.2 billion hours to sport each
year, equivalent to 720,000 additional full time paid
workers.
Suffolk Sport offers an extensive programme of heavily subsidised
courses that are available to anyone with an interest in the
sporting environment. A copy of our 2007 workshop programme is
available to download below. Subjects covered include Child
Protection, First Aid, How To Coach Disabled People in Sport,
Equity, and many others.
