Within the district we have a number of sports grounds that provide first class facilities for outdoor sports and associated informal recreation. Activities you can enjoy include cricket, football, tennis, bowls, putting and pitch and putt.

Beccles Sports Ground

Situated next to the common, this is a wonderful location to enjoy a range of sporting activities. The tree-lined avenue gives a stunning backdrop to the well -maintained pitches.

Facilities include three football pitches, 12 cricket wickets and two rugby pitches. Toilet and changing room provision is available along with leased facilities offering refreshments.

There is an adjacent skateboard facility and access to Beccles common is just a short walk away.

Denes Oval

Home of the Lowestoft Town Cricket Club, Denes Oval enjoys an enviable seafront location. In addition to this first-class cricket facility, there are hard tennis courts and a nine-hole putting green. Toilet and changing room facilities are available on site and refreshment facilities are within easy reach at the adjacent Sparrows Nest Park.

Tennis and putting facilities operate on a ‘pay and play’ basis and are available from 10am until dusk, from May to September inclusive.

Dip Farm

Dip Farm sports ground and Pitch and Putt sit in the glorious semi-natural surroundings of Corton.

Surrounded by mature trees, this offers a wonderful environment to enjoy healthy exercise and recreation.

Opening times and booking details
This nine-hole Pitch and Putt course operates on a ‘pay and play’ basis and is available from 8am. For last clubs please contact the Pitch and Putt office on 01502 584348.

Kirkley Cliff

Kirkley Cliff putting green enjoys marvellous, panoramic sea views. This facility is ideally located close to the popular south beach and offers entertainment for both residents and tourists. With tearooms immediately adjacent, you can sit and watch the children have a round of putting while enjoying some refreshments or alternatively join in for some family fun.

The putting operates on a ‘pay and play’ basis and is available from 10am until dusk, from May through to September.

There are Pay & Display car parks available adjacent to the putting green on Kirkley Cliff Road and in front of the Claremont pier on Claremont Road.



Normanston Park

Situated to the North of Lowestoft and close to Oulton Broad, this large park incorporates a number of sporting facilities, including cricket, tennis and football. The surrounding park is ideal for walking and relaxing, with play, refreshment and toilet facilities available.

Tennis facilities are available all year round and operate on a ‘pay and play’ basis from 10am until dusk.
