About Belle Vue Park

Visitors arriving from
the direction of the High Street can gain access to Belle Vue
Park through the sunken memorial rose garden and then on to
several tree-lined avenues beyond. Those arriving from the
direction of Gunton Cliffs will find entrances on the main
road and also via the historic bridge over the ravine.

Alternatively, visitors can take
the steps from Sparrows Nest Park past the steep sided banks
of spring wildflowers and emerge at the top of the gardens,
high above the North Denes and adjacent to the war memorial.
The memorial, which was erected and is maintained by the war
graves commission, commemorates members of the Royal Naval
Patrol Service who died between 1939 and 1945, having ‘no
grave but the sea.’
Seating is plentiful throughout the gardens, making this is the
perfect spot to sit and relax under mature trees and enjoy the
birds and wildlife that make this garden their home.
