This document sets out Waveney District Council's strategy for dealing with waste up to the year 2010. It is prepared in the context of the Joint Municipal Waste Management Strategy (JMWMS) for Suffolk that considers the management of waste across the County as a whole.

Joint Municipal Waste Management Strategy for Suffolk (JMWMS)

The JMWMS is a document prepared jointly by all the local authorities in Suffolk and is concerned only with municipal waste (mainly waste from households that the local authoirities have a responsibility to manage).

The JMWMS sets out a framework for the management of the municipal waste arising in Suffolk and covers the period until 2020. The JMWMS includes draft Recycling Plans covering the area of each Waste Collection Authority in Suffolk. It represents an important step forward in the management of waste in Suffolk.
