You’ve missed my bin
If we have missed your refuse or recycling bin, we apologise for
any inconveniece this has caused.
Crews report wider issues on their return and it is possible that
if other bins in your area have been collected, that your missed
bin is an isolated incident.
There are number of factors that may affect the collection of your
bin including.
- You forgot to put your bin out, it was not fully visible or it
was not placed at the nearest accessible point to the highway
- Items placed in the bin made it too heavy to tip
- The recyclable material in your bin was contaminated with
non-recyclable items
Upon receiving a report of a missed collection, officers will
investigate the reason and inform you of their findings and your
options. If it is an ommission, we will return to your address to
collect it within one working day of your call and there is no
charge for this service.

your options.
What if the crew has encountered a problem?
On the rare occasion that the refuse service encounters a problem
(e.g. severe weather or a vehicle breakdown) which interferres with
collections, we will post details on our website as soon as
possible (usually in the news section) and alert the local
media.
After our own website, broadcast media such as BBC Radio Suffolk or
Beach Radio are often best placed to assist us in getting
information or updates out at short notice.
