Assisted Refuse Collections

An assisted waste collection service is available for residents who are unable to move their wheelie bin to the kerbside for collection.

Who can receive this service?

This service is available to residents who are elderly, have a disability, or would otherwise find it difficult to move their bin from their property to the collection point, on the appropriate day.

Is there a charge?

There is no charge for this service.

How does it work?

If you are registered on the scheme, you would not be expected to put your bin our for collection, what we call an ‘exemption’.The Council’s refuse collection team will ensure that all households registered on the scheme will have the appropriate bin collected from their property by the crew each week. It will be emptied and placed back as agreed.

How do I discuss or request this service?

Please call 01502 527156 or e-mail waveney.info@ncsgrp.co.uk if you have any questions, or would like to request this service. After you have contacted us, we will make an appointment to visit you to assess your particular situation. If you are eligible for this service we will inform the crew and add your name and address to our Exemption List. Then on your next collection day we will collect your bin, empty it then return it to the agreed location.
