Cemetery Records

Waveney District Council holds the
records for all cemeteries within the district. If you are
looking for records relating to churchyards, you should
contact the appropriate diocese (see links on
Cemeteries
Service page for further details).
Please use the links on the left for details of
individual cemeteries including a listing of records and a
plan for each of them.
Please Note:
The version of Waveney District Council’s
burial index used within this section of the website was updated in
October 2002. It contains only those records that had been copied
from the hand-written registers onto the computerised cemetery
database at that time.

The ongoing process of manually
entering hand-written documents into the system is time
consuming, and some of the older records can be difficult to
read. Whilst we endeavour to keep our records as accurate as
possible, you should be aware that there may be errors in the
records similar to those occuring in other computerised
genelogical records.
If you require further information, you can arrange an appointment
to visit us to look through the registers. These are public records
and are available for inspection free of charge. Alternatively,
subject to payment of a fee, searches of the records can be
undertaken on your behalf.
