Waveney District Council's preferred method of payment is via Direct Debit but alternative ways to pay your Council Tax are available:

Using your debit or credit card

Pay over the telephone using our automated system, visit our Online Payments page , or use your card over the counter.

Telephone and Internet payment is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Please note that you will pay a fee of 1.50% each time you use your credit card to pay Council Tax.


To pay in this way, you can: 

• Ring 01502 511805, and have your bill and your credit or debit card to hand 
• Visit our Online Payments page
• Visit one of our cash offices

By Post

Payments by cheque or postal order can be sent to:

Waveney District Council, PO Box 46, Lowestoft, NR32 1YS

Please make cheques payable to "Waveney District Council", and write your address and account reference number on the back.

PLEASE DO NOT SEND CASH THROUGH THE POST

In Person

Payment can be made by cash, cheque, debit card or credit card at any of the council's cash offices . 

At Any UK Post Office

The Council can provide you with a giro payment card. This will allow you to pay your Council Tax at any Post Office in the country, without charge.

If you wish to pay by this method please telephone  01502 523435 and we will arrange for a payment card to be sent to you. Please note that this can take two to three weeks.
