The Council Tax legislation lays out the number of payments over
which the annual charge can be paid. This is known as "the
statutory scheme".
This scheme allows for a maximum of 10 monthly instalments. The
number of instalments is reduced if your annual bill is sent after
1 May, for example, if you move into a property partway through the
financial year, which runs from April to March.
The Council decides which dates your payments are due. For this
year, payments are due on the 1st of each month from April to
January inclusive.
In addition to the statutory scheme, Waveney District Council
also offers a number of alternative schemes to those taxpayers who
want to pay by Direct Debit, or want to pay
half-yearly or annually.
