Council Tax is a local tax that is used to help pay for the
spending of local authorities and the police.
It is Waveney District Council's job to collect the tax on
behalf of Suffolk County Council, the Suffolk Police Authority, the
local Town or Parish Council and, of course, Waveney District
Council.
The average Council Tax bill for 2006/2007 is made up as
follows:

Summary details of the spending plans for each of these
authorities can be found in the
Council Tax Information booklet for 2007/2008
The tax has two elements; a property part based on one of eight
Council Tax bands, and a personal part.
A full Council Tax bill assumes two or more adults live in the
property. If less than two adults live in the property, council tax
for that property can be reduced.
