Council Tax Benefits



Council Tax Benefit is credited directly to your Council Tax account and details will be shown on your Council Tax Demand Notice.

The Council's benefit team carries out the administration of Council Tax benefit. For more information, contact them on 01502 523535 , or visit the  Benefits page on this website.

Once your benefit claim has been dealt with, a new bill will be sent to you, this will advise you of a revised installment plan. It must be noted Council Tax installments must be continued to be paid until you receive a revised Council Tax Demand Notice from us. In the meantime, you should continue to pay the amounts shown on your latest council tax bill.

If there is a subsequent change to your Council Tax Benefit due to a change in your circumstances you will be issued with a revised Council Tax Demand Notice and this will advise you of the amounts that must be paid.
