Consultation Overview
This document seeks your views on land that has been suggested to
meet future development needs in Waveney up to 2021. These sites
are not planning applications – at this
early stage they are just suggested locations for future
development. This is
the first stage in the production of this document.

Who is consulting?
Waveney District Council
And why?
As part of
changes to the plan making process introduction in 2004, Local
Planning Authorities are required to produce a Local Development
Framework. The Local Development Framework will guide development
in the District to 2021 and will supersede the current Waveney
Local Plan (Adopted Nov 1996) and the Waveney Interim Local Plan
(May 2004). A Local Development Framework is made up of several
documents. The East of England Plan and some of the Local
Development Framework documents make up the development plan i.e.
the key documents used for making planning decisions. The Site
Specific Allocations document is one of the development plan
documents that will make up the Local Development Framework. We
would welcome your views on the issues and options put forward in
this document.

Outcome
We will consider the responses we
receive to the Issues and Options consultation. Any further sites
identified will be assessed to establish their compatibility with
the Core Strategy, national and regional planning policy, and the
principles of sustainable development. Your responses will help us
to draft the Preferred Options document which will be available for
further public consultation late 2007.
