Consultation Overview
This document
seeks your views on the the Council’s Preferred Options for the
regeneration of the Lake Lothing area of Lowesfoft. These Preferred
Options are based on the results of previous consultation
exercises, as well as further technical work and evaluation,
including a Sustainability Appraisal / Strategic Environmental
Assessment.

Who is consulting?
Waveney District Council
And why?
Area Action
Plans provide the planning framework for areas where significant
change or conservation is needed or expected. 1st East, the Urban
Regeneration Company for Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft, is currently
preparing an Area Action Plan for the Lake Lothing area in
Lowestoft. The Area Action Plan is one of the Development Plan
Documents that will make up the Local Development Framework. The
Local Development Framework will replace the existing Local Plan
and will provide the planning framework for the District to 2021.
When adopted, the Local Development Framework, together with the
Regional Spatial Strategy will form the statutory development plan
for Waveney.

When is the consultation taking place?
Start Date: 5th January
2007
End Date: 19th February 2007
Outcome:
Once the responses to the Lake Lothing Area Action Plan
Preferred Options have been received and considered, a revised Area
Action Plan will be prepared. This revised plan will then be
published for 6 weeks further consultation and at the same time
submitted to the Secretary of State for Examination. Following
Examination, the Inspector will issue a binding report. The revised
Area Action Plan will then be adopted.
