Who is consulting?
Waveney District Council
And why?
The Council does not have the capital to modernise the site to
today’s statutory and proper standards. Additionally, the Council
does not see itself as an operator of caravan parks and is moving
towards becoming an enabling authority. The Council therefore
wishes to transfer the operation of the site to a third party with
the experience of running and managing such operations. In
achieving this, the Council wants your views on its
proposals.

Outcome: After several years of high profile
debate regarding the future of the North Denes Caravan Site in
Lowestoft, Full Council approved the
Note on Implementation for the site on
September 7th 2006. Work will now begin to find a third party
operator for the site to ensure that it can re-open at the
earliest opportunity, in line with the newly adopted Note on
Implementation.
