Who is
consulting?
Waveney District Council
And why?
The Council in its role as a licensing authority under The
Licensing Act 2003 has to prepare and publish a statement of its
licensing policy every 3 years. The first statutory 3-year period
began with the current policy document on 7 January 2005 and the
next 3-year period begins 7 January 2008.
Who do they want to consult?
Before
determining its policy for any three year period or if revising a
policy within a period, the licensing authority must consult the
persons listed in section 5(3) of the 2003 Act. These are:
. the chief officer of police for the area
. the fire and rescue authority for the area
. persons/bodies representative of local holders of premises
licences
. persons/bodies representative of local holders of club premises
certificates
. persons/bodies representative of local holders of personal
licences and
. persons/bodies representative of businesses and residents in its
area
Also included will be all Waveney District Councillors, Local Town
and Parish Councils.
When is the consultation taking place?
Start Date: 9 July 2007
End Date: 28 September 2007
Outcome
Any and all feedback to the
consultation will receive consideration and if appropriate and
relevant to the 4 licensing objectives may form part of any
amendments to the policy review.
