Consultation on the Council’s approach to future development in
Waveney to 2021.
Read full details .
Who is consulting?
Waveney District Council.
And why?
The plan making system has been fundamentally changed. The Local
Plan is being replaced by a Local Development Framework. The Core
Strategy is one of a number of documents which will make up the
Local Development Framework. This document will set out the
Council’s overall approach to future development, where it should
take place and the key factors that need to be taken into
consideration when considering proposed developments. All other
Development Plan Documents will need to conform with the Core
Strategy. The Core Strategy has been through three previous periods
of public consultation and the comments made have been taken into
account in producing the Submission document. An independent
Inspector will be appointed to assess the Core Strategy and will be
concerned with how ‘sound’ the document is. This means asking if
the document is fit for purpose. A range of tests have been
compiled by the Planning Inspectorate to be used when submitting
comments on the Core Strategy, and the Council is inviting comments
relating to the tests of soundness. Representations made at the
previous stages will not be carried forward.
