The business rates legislation lays out the number of payments
over which the annual charge can be paid. This is known as "the
statutory scheme".
This scheme allows for a maximum of 10 monthly instalments. The
number of instalments is reduced if your annual bill is sent after
1 May, for example, if you you become liable part-way through the
financial year, which runs from April to March.
The Council decides which dates your payments are due. For this
year, payments are due on the 1st of each month from April to
January inclusive.
Waveney District Council also offers a number of different ways
in which you can make your payments.
Direct Debit

At the moment, nearly 24,500 businesses and households have
decided this is the best way to pay their bill.
It is the method the Council would prefer you to use, because
the cost of handling your payments is significantly less than if
you pay by any other method.
Taking the paperwork out of payment allows our staff to give you
individual attention. If you miss a payment, we will ask why
instead of sending reminders. If we need to adjust your payments we
tell you well in advance.
Direct Debit is the only payment method that comes with a
guarantee.
