Community Amateur Sports Clubs (CASCs) can be entitled to a minimum
of 80% mandatory rate relief.
Waveney District Council then has
the power to award up to a maximum of 20% discretionary rate
relief. This is provided that the club can prove that they would
suffer hardship if they were to pay the remaining 20%
due.
To be considered for this relief, organisations
must first register with the Inland Revenue, and complete an
application form to the Council.
This relief is then reviewed in line with current
guidelines every two years.
