From 1 April 2005, the rateable value of a property represents the yearly rent it would have expected to bring on the open market on 1 April 2003.

An independent officer of the Valuation Office Agency sets the rateable value of a business property. All business properties are re-valued every 5 years.

The rateable values of all properties we charge business rates for are shown in the local rating list. You can see a copy of this list at the office of the District Valuer, whose address is:
